Colonel Applegate Releases Two New Ads: It's Time to Put Politics Aside and Put Country First

Criticizes Issa's continued support of Donald Trump, highlights Applegate’s focus on problem solving

Today the Applegate for Congress campaign released two new television ads, "Still" and "Face It." "Still" criticizes Congressman Darrell Issa for his continued support of Donald Trump’s campaign despite Trump bragging about groping women and numerous sexual assault allegations.  "Face It" highlights Colonel Applegate's service to our country as a Marine Colonel and his plan to put political games aside and put country first in Congress.

“Darrell Issa's continued support of Donald Trump, despite numerous women coming forward with sexual assault allegations, is further proof the Issa will always put party before country,” said Robert Dempsey, Applegate’s campaign manager. "Colonel Applegate doesn't care about playing politics, he cares about delivering real results. That's what the people of the 49th deserve and we need to send a Marine Colonel to fix the broken Congress."

These ads are the fourth and fifth released by the Applegate campaign. The first, “Lined Pockets” links Issa to his presidential pick Donald Trump and questions how Issa became over $200 million richer in Congress. Issa responded with a threatening letter in an attempt to distract from the issues. Likewise, Issa gave a weak knee-jerk response to Applegate’s second ad “Everything Changed,” which criticized Issa for voting against the 9/11 first responder bill and saying he had done enough for what he called “simply" a plane crash. The third "Access", condemned Congressman Darrell Issa for taking an official role on Donald Trump’s campaign on the same day disgusting tapes were released in which Trump brags about sexual assault.

"Still” and "Face It" will air on broadcast and cable in the 49th Congressional District.
