APPLEGATE CAMPAIGN CORRECTS ALL FEC FILINGS
San Clemente, CA - On Friday, March 24th, the Applegate for Congress Campaign filed all corrected campaign disclosures with the Federal Elections Commission (FEC). As was expected, the campaign was able to correct errors from previous filings and account for all campaign expenditures at the end of the last reporting period.
A complete audit of campaign funds revealed there were two wired expenditures on media buys and two checks that had not been entered into the books and were omitted from the previous filings. The total of these errors is approximately $345,000. The audit of campaign funds also confirmed there was no money missing and that no money was incorrectly spent.
“It was a mistake that never should have happened. But I was confident throughout this entire process this was nothing more than mistakes being made,” said Doug Applegate. “We have the right team in place to finish what we started and beat Darrell Issa in 2018.”
The Applegate Team also released via twitter the results of a Strategies 360 poll done in early March which shows Applegate in a virtual dead heat with Issa and has a substantial 30 point lead over the other Democratic challengers.
