Doug Applegate for Congress Internship Application
Apply to be one of our campaign interns!
What You'll Learn:
Interns will gain hands-on experience working on the most watched congressional race in the nation. We want interns to get a broad understanding of the various functions of a campaign, from fundraising and communications, to volunteer recruitment and voter persuasion. Interns will have the opportunity to meet and network with elected officials and local business and community leaders, learn about the issues most important to residents of the 49th, and develop skills that will assist them in their future careers.
How to Apply:
Thank you for your interest in interning with Col. Doug Applegate's congressional campaign! Please fill out the application below, and then send your resume (in PDF format) to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please include the school you attend or will be attending this fall, your overall GPA, the city in which you will be residing during the internship, and your daily/weekly availability.
Interns are expected to commit to 8 hours minimum per week, but we are flexible around class and work schedules. If you're interested in coming in on a less regular basis, please fill out our volunteer form instead.
Applications are being accepted on a rolling basis. This unpaid internship program is intended to provide an educational experience to students, and is not expected to lead to an offer of permanent employment. Please note that different high schools, colleges, and universities have varying requirements for internships to receive academic credit. UCSD requires 100 hours (more information available here). Please contact your respective school administration for more information.
